The City of Battle Ground has begun construction on a new 106-foot-diameter, 2.5-million-gallon water reservoir on Tukes Mountain. The project will replace aging infrastructure and increase the city’s water storage capacity by 1.5 million gallons.
The reservoir is being built north of Battle Ground’s East Main Street near Northeast 23rd Avenue in the Tukes Mountain area, the City of Battle Ground’s website stated.
Construction includes the demolition of three existing concrete reservoirs, upgrades to infrastructure, and related improvements, according to the city’s website.
Preliminary engineering for the $5.1 million project began in 2022. The project is expected to be completed in 2026 and is funded through the City of Battle Ground’s water utility, the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act and the U.S. Department of Commerce.
