Camp Hope construction to impact Lewisville Regional Park access

Posted

Access to Lewisville Regional Park will be disrupted Monday through Wednesday, July 1 through July 3, as new water tanks and support structures are delivered and lifted by helicopter across the East Fork Lewis River to Camp Hope.

Helicopter operations are slated to occur during the Wednesday afternoon of July 3 but may change depending on the weather, a Clark County Public Works news release stated. Once the materials are moved, the park will resume normal operations.

During helicopter operations, the roadway to Lewisville Regional Park will close to limit vehicles near the worksite. Visitors during construction should expect significant noise and closed-off recreational areas as the construction materials are transported across the river, the news release stated.

The new water tanks and supportive structures will replace the aging water system at Camp Hope, which no longer meets drinking water requirements. Renovations will involve replacing the existing storage tanks, updating piping and installing a sanitation system, the news release stated.
