City of BG seeks applications for new salary commission

The Battle Ground City Council is currently seeking applications from individuals who want to serve on the newly created salary commission.

The commission will be made up of three volunteers who meet annually to review the salary and health benefits provided to Battle Ground’s elected officials, stated a news release. Commission members need to live in Battle Ground and cannot be an officer, official, or employee of the city, nor a relative of the three, the release stated.



Members are unpaid and appointed by the mayor once approval from the city council is obtained. Since the commission is new, initial members will serve staggered terms of one, two, or three years. After that, members will be appointed in three-year intervals.
