City of La Center to hold blood drive on March 28

Posted

The City of La Center will host a blood drive from noon to 6 p.m. on Tuesday, March 28, at the old city hall located at 214 E. Fourth St.

The city and its mayor previously proclaimed March as Red Cross Month. Information from the city states they “encourage all citizens of La Center to reach out and support its humanitarian mission.”

The Month of March is recognized as Red Cross Month. It highlights the work the American Red Cross does for communities nationwide.

The American Red Cross relies on donations of blood, time and money to fulfill its humanitarian mission in local communities that depend on the organization. All blood types are needed. A driver’s license, blood donor card or two forms of other identification are required at check-in.

Those who are not eligible donors can help by organizing a blood drive or by volunteering for Red Cross activities.

To schedule an appointment, go online to redcrossblood.org/give.html/donation-time and enter the zip code.
