Clark County Community Services is offering grant applications for nonprofit local anti-poverty programs that will help people reach self-sufficiency. Mandatory pre-applications to the Community Action Program are due by 11:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 1.

Clark County periodically holds a Community Needs Assessment, which surveys the top needs of low-income households. Areas of need include employment, education, housing, health and more. This assessment is used to determine what aid categories will receive funding from the Community Action Program, a news release by Clark County stated.

  • Approximately $284,000 will be available for the following aid categories this year:
  • Physical health, targeting dental and food assistance
  • Income and asset building, targeting credit repair and financial planning services
  • Support services providing transportation assistance

Private individuals and for-profit entities are not eligible for funding awards. All funding awarded must serve residents within the county, the news release stated.

After the pre-application, full applications are due by 11:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 3, 2025. Contracts for those awarded financial aid will begin July 1, 2025, the news release stated.

Application instructions are available online at clark.wa.gov/community-services/applications. For more information about the Community Action Program and financial aid, contact program coordinator Abby Molloy at abby.molloy@clark.wa.gov.
