Two men from New York were arrested in Clark County after Washington State Patrol troopers discovered large quantities of marijuana and Ketamine in their vehicle during a traffic stop on Thursday, Feb. 27.
At approximately 10:30 a.m., troopers observed a red Dodge Hornet speeding southbound on Interstate 5 near milepost 6, traveling 19 miles over the posted speed limit. Upon stopping the vehicle, officers noticed two large black trash bags in the rear seat and detected a strong odor of marijuana coming from the passenger area. Further questioning led to the arrest of both occupants, who were booked into the Clark County Jail, a news release by Washington State Patrol stated.
A search of the vehicle revealed multiple black trash bags in the backseat and trunk, containing a total of 160 pounds of marijuana. Troopers also found 11 grams of ketamine powder. The seized drugs have an estimated street value of $800,000 to $900,000, the news release stated.
The suspects have been charged with possession of marijuana with intent to deliver and possession of ketamine with intent to deliver, the news release stated.
