Miss Teen competition: 7 p.m. on Saturday, July 15. The Miss Teen La Center Scholarship Program, which has been renamed to the Miss Teen La Center North County Scholarship Program, will hold its competition at La Center Middle School at 2001 NE Lockwood Creek Road. The program has expanded its competition to include Woodland, Battle Ground, Yacolt and Amboy. Summer concert: 2 p.m. on Sunday, July 16. Bethel Lutheran Church will host a free summer concert featuring Saved By Grace, a Vancouver-based group with a southern style. Team Little Violets Fundraiser: 4:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 20. The event will be held on the patio of Detroit Pizza in Battle Ground. A portion of the day’s sales will be donated to the Alzheimer’s Association through the Walk to End Alzheimer’s. ‘Wine, Nine and Dine’: 5:30 p.m. on July 29. The Lewis River Golf Course in Woodland will host its Wine, Nine and Dine event with wine and appetizer reception at 5:30 p.m. followed by a 6 p.m. shotgun start. Christian Service Brigade Reunion: Thursday, Aug. 3, Friday, Aug. 4, and Saturday, Aug. 5. Participants involved in the Unit 6610 Battalion or Stockade divisions of the Christian Service Brigade (CSB) program at Bethel Lutheran Church in the early to mid-1980s are invited to attend a three-day reunion. Bethel Lutheran Church, at 12919 NE 159th St. in Brush Prairie, will serve as the base for the Aug. 3 and Aug. 4 excursions, which begin at 9 a.m. A local fishing trip is planned for Aug. 3 and participants will hike nature trails through 81 acres of mature forest and open meadows on Aug. 4. A meal and evening program at the church are scheduled for 5 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 5. 

YMCA day camps: Through Aug. 11. The Battle Ground Parks and Recreation Department has partnered with Clark County Family YMCA to offer summer day camps at the Battle Ground Community Center at 912 E. Main St. The YMCA day camps, designed for two age groups spanning 4 to 12 years old, provide child-centered activities and opportunities for learning through discovery. Options include dance fitness camp, cooking camps and a variety of STEM camps focused on lego engineering, Star Wars coding with Legos and stop-motion animation. Summer playground program: Through Aug. 17. The free eight-week program provided by the Battle Ground Parks and Recreation Department is designed for children between the ages of 4 and 12 and brings summer activities to parks in the city each week. Each week will feature a different themed activity and provides children the opportunity to play games and create arts and crafts projects. Session locations and times are from 10 a.m. to noon on Tuesdays at Kiwanis Park at 422 SW Second Ave., 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. on Tuesdays at Cresap Park at 1911 SE Second Place, 10 a.m. to noon on Wednesdays at Whispering Pines Park at 715 NE 27th St., 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. on Wednesdays at Kiwanis Park at 422 SW Second Ave., and from 10 a.m. to noon on Thursdays at Florence Robison Park South at 1900 NW Ninth St. For more information, contact Battle Ground Parks and Recreation by phone at 360-342-5380 or visit cityofbg.org/695/summer-playground-program.

Creative Cardmaking: 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 13. Friday night cruise-ins: 4 to 8 p.m. every Friday through Sept. 15. Alderbrook Park welcomes all special interest cars, trucks and bikes at its cruise-in events. Participating vehicles need to pay $10 to enter and only cash is accepted. Tickets for adult spectators cost $8 per person, while tickets for kids ages 4 to 13 cost $5. Children 3 and under can enter for free.  Cash or card is accepted for spectator entrance. The events will host food trucks, an espresso cart, cafe snack shacks, a beer garden and other vendors. Bliss Yoga: 9 to 10:15 a.m. on Tuesdays and from 6 to 7 p.m. on Thursdays at the BG Holistic Hub and Apothecary located at 314 NE First Ave., ste. 101 in Battle Ground. 6 to 7:15 p.m. on Mondays and from 9 to 10 a.m. on Fridays located at 7614 NE 279th St. in Battle Ground. Classes include gentle poses, meditation and relaxation. Classes help increase strength, balance and flexibility. All levels are welcome. 75 minute class are $20 and 60 minute classes are $15.
