Military band at farmers market: 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, July 6. The La Center Farmers Market will host a military rock band, and a display of antique and modern military vehicles. The market is located in the north parking lot of La Center Church, located at 111 E. Fifth St. in downtown La Center. Raptors military appreciation night: Game at 6:35 p.m. on Saturday, July 8. The Ridgefield Raptors baseball team will celebrate all active duty military and veterans with free admission to its game. The Ridgefield American Legion Post 44 will sponsor the night and will have a booth with information at the game.

Art in the garden: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, July 9. Join NatureScaping and their partners at the Clark County Special Interest Group of the Hardy Plant Society of Oregon for the 11th anniversary of Art in the Garden. The event will include art, music, spinning demonstrations, and a mini plant sale at the Wildlife Botanical Gardens located at 11000 NE 149th St. in Brush Prairie. There will also be a Clark County Composter Recycling demonstration area.

Plaque dedication: 2 p.m. on Sunday, July 9. The North Clark Historical Museum, in partnership with the Hannah Mayhew Daggett Chapter, National Society Colonial Dames XVII Century in Vancouver and the Clark County Historical Museum, will dedicate a new historical interpretive plaque at the North Clark Historical Museum at 21416 NE 399th St. in Amboy. The event will include a welcome and dedication by North Clark Historical Museum Board President Debi Zitt, remarks from Cynthia Swanson, the state marking and preservation chair of CDXVIIC, and brief comments from Clark County Historical Museum Executive Director Brad Richardson. The new historical interpretive plaque will highlight the history of the Amboy United Brethren Church, which houses the North Clark Historical Museum.

Battle Ground senior luncheon: Doors open at 11 a.m. with a general meeting at 11:30 a.m. and lunch served at noon on Monday, July 10. The Battle Ground Senior Citizens group will hold its luncheon. Miss Teen competition: 7 p.m. on Saturday, July 15. The Miss Teen La Center Scholarship Program, which has been renamed to the Miss Teen La Center North County Scholarship Program, will hold its competition at La Center Middle School at 2001 NE Lockwood Creek Road. The program has expanded its competition to include Woodland, Battle Ground, Yacolt and Amboy. ‘Wine, Nine and Dine’: 5:30 p.m. on July 29. The Lewis River Golf Course in Woodland will host its Wine, Nine and Dine event with wine and appetizer reception at 5:30 p.m. followed by a 6 p.m. shotgun start. Christian Service Brigade Reunion: Thursday, Aug. 3, Friday, Aug. 4, and Saturday, Aug. 5. Participants involved in the Unit 6610 Battalion or Stockade divisions of the Christian Service Brigade (CSB) program at Bethel Lutheran Church in the early to mid-1980s are invited to attend a three-day reunion. Bethel Lutheran Church, at 12919 NE 159th St. in Brush Prairie, will serve as the base for the Aug. 3 and Aug. 4 excursions, which begin at 9 a.m. A local fishing trip is planned for Aug. 3 and participants will hike nature trails through 81 acres of mature forest and open meadows on Aug. 4. A meal and evening program at the church are scheduled for 5 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 5.
