Vacation Bible School: 9 a.m. to noon through Thursday, June 29. Join Bethel Lutheran Church for “Stellar VBS: Shine Jesus’ Light.” It will be held at the church, which is located at 12919 NE 159th St. in Brush Prairie. YMCA day camps: June 26 through Aug. 11. The Battle Ground Parks and Recreation Department has partnered with Clark County Family YMCA to offer summer day camps at the Battle Ground Community Center at 912 E. Main St. The YMCA day camps, designed for two age groups spanning 4 to 12 years old, provide child-centered activities and opportunities for learning through discovery. Options include dance fitness camp, cooking camps and a variety of STEM camps focused on Lego engineering, Star Wars coding with Legos and stop motion animation. Summer playground program: June 27 through Aug. 17. The free eight-week program provided by the Battle Ground Parks and Recreation Department is designed for children between the ages of 4 and 12 and brings summer activities to parks in the city each week. Each week will feature a different themed activity and provides children the opportunity to play games and create arts and crafts projects. Session locations and times are from 10 a.m. to noon on Tuesdays at Kiwanis Park at 422 SW Second Ave., 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. on Tuesdays at Cresap Park at 1911 SE Second Place, 10 a.m. to noon on Wednesdays at Whispering Pines Park at 715 NE 27th St., 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. on Wednesdays at Kiwanis Park at 422 SW Second Ave., and from 10 a.m. to noon on Thursdays at Florence Robison Park South at 1900 NW Ninth St. For more information, contact Battle Ground Parks and Recreation by phone at 360-342-5380 or visit cityofbg.org/695/summer-playground-program.

Yacolts Rendezvous Days: June 30 to July 4. Yacolt will host its Rendezvous Days. At 6 p.m. on Friday, June 30, a kickball tournament will take place at the Little League fields. All ages are welcome to participate. To participate in the kickball tournament, the fee is $10 per team, which can range in size from five to 10 people. A signed waiver is required for participation. All of the proceeds from the tournament will be donated to NCLL. At 9 a.m. on Saturday, July 1, the Bigfoot Fun Run 5K and 10K will start. At 11 a.m. on July 1, the outdoor vendor market will open at Yacolt Central Park. The entry fee for vendors costs $5, while the Bigfoot Fun Run entry fees are $40 for the 5K or $50 for the 10K. A sidewalk chalk art contest will be held at 11 a.m. on July 1. The event is open to four age categories: those who are 4 years old and younger, kids 5 to 8 years, 9 to 12 years old and 13 and older. At noon on July 1, Yacolt Mayor Katie Listek will lead the opening ceremonies, which will include the national anthem, the introduction of the grand marshal and the civic responsibility award. At 1 p.m., a block party will begin. There will be a bounce house, lawn games and sprinklers. At 4 p.m. on July 1, the office chair races will begin, which will be followed by a watermelon eating contest at 5 p.m. At 6 p.m., there will be sack races, tug-o-war and hula hooping. The day will close out with a “music and dance” event at the town square at Yacolt Central Park, which starts at 7:30 p.m. On Sunday, July 2, the “Hellz Bellz” Ultra Marathon will begin at Hantwick Trailhead at 6 a.m. The marathon has an entry fee of $130. It includes camping, a shuttle, a post-race meal, a finisher award and additional swag. There will be no events on Monday, July 3. On Tuesday, July 4, the Independence Day parade will begin at 11 a.m. The winners will be announced following the conclusion of the parade at the Little League fields. Ridgefield Fourth of July celebration: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Tuesday, July 4. Ridgefield will host its Fourth of July event. The fun run will begin at 8 a.m. Those interested in the 5K and 10K runs can sign up online at runridgefield.com/independence-run. The price for the 5K costs $30, while the 10K costs $40 to enter. At 10 a.m., the pet and kid pre-parade will take place at the corner of Pioneer Street and Third Avenue. Then at 11 a.m., the Fourth of July parade will take place. From 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., the Fourth of July festival will take place downtown. It will feature food trucks and craft vendors in various locations. For $5, parents and guardians can purchase a wristband for their kids to enjoy the children’s activities. After the parade, Overlook Park will host the Hi-Fidelity Entertainment Zone with street dancing and other live entertainment on stage. Battle Ground Senior Luncheon: Doors open at 11 a.m. with a general meeting at 11:30 a.m. and lunch served at noon on Monday, July 10. The Battle Ground Senior Citizens group will hold its luncheon. Outdoor Art & Activities Day Camp: 9 a.m to 3:30 p.m, July 11 through July 13 for ages 9-17. Camp Hope Summer Day Camps will want those interested to be ready for adventure, creativity and messy fun. Grand Opening Event in Ridgefield: noon to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, July 12. Arktana Women’s Clothing and Shoe Boutique will host a grand opening event in Ridgefield’s Pioneer Village at 4312 S.
