(Her)Story: Rebel Women of Clark County: Doors open at 5 p.m. and the event starts at 7 p.m. on Thursday, March 3. Join the Clark County Historical Museum as April Buzby presents “(Her)Story: Rebel Women of Clark County,” which details the lives of Elizabeth Jane Herrington Irwin and Mary Ellen Bates, two women who served in WWI and WWII. General admission tickets are $5, while tickets for seniors and students are $4 and tickets for children under 18 are $3. The event is free for museum members, veterans, and active-duty military personnel. Guests are encouraged to arrive early since seating is limited. Proof of vaccination is required. Daughters of the Pioneers meeting: 12:30 p.m. for optional social time, 1 p.m. for the meeting on Thursday, March 3. Join the Daughters of the Pioneers of Washington as member Louise Tucker presents “History Revealed.” The presentation will detail how the book, “Battle Ground… In and Around,” developed due to community engagement. Friends of Woodland Community Library book sale:  From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday, March 4 and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 5. The sale will be held in the lower level of the  Presbyterian Church, at 756 Park St. in Woodland, next to the library. Prices for children’s books range from 25 cents to $1. Mass market books are 50 cents.  Hardcover and trade paperback books are $1. DVDs, audio books, and music CDs are two for $1. Puzzles will also be for sale. Happy Hoppers beginner square dance lessons: 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 3 and Monday, March 7. Join Happy Hoppers in square dancing lessons for beginners. Cost is $5 per person. Used book sale: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 5. The Battle Ground Community Library will host a “hallway sale” inside the south entrance at 1207 SE Eighth Way in Battle Ground. Spring Scavenger History Hunt: Monday, March 7 to Saturday, March 12. Join the Clark County Genealogical Society on a Spring Scavenger History Hunt, which celebrates the theme of “Governors from Founding Fathers to Baby Boomers.” Participants will be asked seven questions about governors from the United States or American colonies from the 16th to 20th century. Players can also research answers with online resources. Five daily cash prizes will be given to adults and to students. Grand prizes will also be given to one adult and one student. Genealogical Society family tree webinar: 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 9.  Join the Clark County Genealogical Society for the Legacy Family Tree Webinar, “Hidden Treasures: Discovering Local Sources in your Irish Research.” At the event, Irish family researchers will show how to examine records for genealogical research using street directories, cemetery registers, maps, and more. The Running Start program allows eligible juniors and seniors to earn credits at Clark College while fulfilling their high school graduation requirements. La Center kindergarten registration: 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on weekdays at the La Center Elementary School office, 700 E. Fourth St., La Center or online at LaCenterSchools.org. Kindergarten for La Center children starts on April 11. Parents are strongly encouraged to register beforehand. Children must turn 5 years old on or before Aug. 31. Parents must bring a copy of their child’s immunization record and birth certificate. Kindy Club Nights will also be hosted from 5 to 6 p.m. on Thursday, April 21 and May 19 in the La Center Elementary School cafeteria. The events help prepare incoming students.
