College and career fair: 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 26. Join Battle Ground Public Schools as they host a college and career fair, which allows students to explore a variety of post-high school options, including two- and four-year colleges, apprenticeship programs, trade schools and the military. It will be located at the Prairie High School commons, 11311 NE 119th St., Vancouver. The event is open to the public. Pooch parade and costume contest: 6 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 27. Join the Battle Ground community as the city’s parks and recreation department hosts a Pooch Parade and pet costume contest. The winner will win a variety of prizes including a $100 Wilco gift card and gift baskets. K9 officer Charlie will also be in attendance as the grand marshal. Fall bazaar and craft show: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 28 and Saturday, Oct. 29. Join the North Clark Historical Museum as they host vendors with a variety of handcrafted items like cards, jewelry, crocheted critters, wash cloths and polished rocks. Ten percent of the proceeds will go to the museum and will benefit its development, maintenance and operating expenses. Admission is free. Phantom of the Opera screening: 7 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 29 and Sunday, Oct. 30. Join Battle Ground Public Schools as they screen the 1925 classic horror movie, Phantom of the Opera, with choral accompaniment sung by the Vancouver Master Chorale and orchestra. The program also includes “Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban” and the song “The Monster Mash” with students from Battle Ground and Prairie high schools. Tickets are $25 and are available online at vancouvermasterchorale.org. Tickets are free for kids 12 and under. It will be held at Battle Ground High School, 300 W. Main St., Battle Ground.

Halloween Fright Night: 4 to 6 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 31. Join Summit View Church as they host this year’s Halloween Fright Night, which includes a trunk-or-treat, games and prizes. There will also be a kid-friendly haunted bus with candy. Summit View Church is located at 7701 NE 182nd Ave., Vancouver. Lewis River Rotary: 7 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 1. Join the Lewis River Rotary Club as Rotarian Lisa Oldham details how businesses can hire an inclusive and diverse workforce, specifically those with intellectual disabilities. Daughters of the Pioneers: 12:30 p.m. for social time, 1 p.m. for meeting, on Thursday, Nov. 3. Join the Daughters of the Pioneers of Washington Chapter No. 19 as member Judy Bergren discusses her pioneer ancestors. It will be held at the Battle Ground Community Center, 912 E. Holiday bazaar: 2 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 4 and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 5. Join the City of Battle Ground as they host its first holiday bazaar at the Battle Ground Community Center, which will bring over 40 local crafters and artisans who will sell their products for the holiday season. Admission is free. The Battle Ground Rotary will also host a refreshment stand along with snacks. The Battle Ground Community Center is located at 912 E. Main St., Battle Ground. Creative cardmaking class: 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 9. Join senior citizens from Battle Ground as they make homemade greeting cards. Dangers of fentanyl: 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 16. Join the Ridgefield community as the Clark County Sheriff’s Office presents information on the dangers of fentanyl. Holiday craft night: 7 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 18. Join the Battle Ground Parks and Recreation Department as they make wreaths with community members. Supplies and instructions will be provided. Holiday tree lighting celebration: 5:30 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 2. Join the Battle Ground community as they celebrate their annual tree lighting celebration at the Battle Ground Community Center. There will be live music and caroling with the Battle Ground High School choir and Santa Claus will make a grand entrance on a Fire District 3 engine. Santa and Mrs. Claus will also greet children at the center. There will be holiday cookies and hot cocoa as well. Admission is free. The Battle Ground Community Center is located at 912 E.
