Nominations are open for the Philanthropist of the Year and Community Champion awards through the Community Foundation for Southwest Washington.

The deadline for submissions is 5 p.m. on Thursday, April 7.

The foundation established the Philanthropist of the Year Award to recognize individuals, couples, families or foundations that serve as exemplars of generosity in the community through charitable support, leadership and service.

The Community Champion Award celebrates individuals or organizations that are engaged in their communities as they apply their time or talents to the region’s most pressing issues to improve the quality of life of residents.

“The Community Foundation welcomes all applicants and aims to reflect and honor the many ways that people are caring for their communities in southwest Washington,” stated a news release. “These awards are part of the Southwest Washington Philanthropy Awards lineup, which is presented during the Community Foundation for Southwest Washington’s annual celebration.”

This year’s event will be held at the Hilton in Vancouver from noon to 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 7. Tickets for the event can be purchased online starting on April 1.
