County seeks input on climate change planning

Posted

Clark County has issued a survey seeking community input on how climate change has impacted residents’ lives. The survey is part of the county’s new comprehensive plan.

Feedback provided by the survey will inform the development of the climate change element and what actions the county can take to prepare for and cope with future severe weather events and weather patterns, a county news release stated.

The new climate chapter will include actions the county can take over the next 20 years to improve community resilience, reduce greenhouse gas emissions and benefit overburdened communities that will disproportionately suffer from the compounding environmental impacts and natural hazards due to climate change.

Surveys are available online at surveymonkey.com/r/JL 9JCVQ. Responses are due by 5 p.m., Sunday, May 12.

Print copies of the survey may be requested by calling 564-397-4968.
