Northwest La Center Road is expected to remain closed for several hours between Timmen Road and Paradise Park Road after a crash involving a full-size C-TRAN bus, a Chrysler PT Cruiser, and a minivan has left one person dead.
According to the Clark County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO), the three-vehicle crash occurred at approximately 10:41 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 8.
Based on the preliminary investigation, the PT Cruiser was traveling westbound on NW La Center Road when it appears to have crossed the center line and struck the front corner of the C-TRAN bus, CCSO stated. The collision triggered a chain-reaction crash involving a minivan traveling behind the PT Cruiser.
The female driver of the PT Cruiser, who was the vehicle’s sole occupant, died as a result of the crash, CCSO stated.
The C-TRAN bus was carrying passengers at the time of the collision. Minor injuries were reported. An adult and a child traveling in the minivan were not injured, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
Drivers are asked to avoid the area and use alternate routes to allow first responders to safely complete their work.
The CCSO Traffic Homicide Unit is investigating the crash. The cause remains under investigation. No further information is available at this time.
