Hockinson girls runner wins by 9 seconds in cross country race at Hockinson Meadows

Hockinson High School junior Lyla Taylor completed the 5,000-meter cross country course at Hockinson Meadows Community Park with a time of 19 minutes, 20 seconds, beating out Elsie Herold of Mark Morris High School in Longview by 9 seconds on Wednesday, Oct. 9. 

Hockinson’s Graysen Aldridge and Scarlett Sanders raced neck and neck to finish third and fourth by a difference of a second in the girls varsity run. 



In the boys race, Hockinson’s senior cross country runner Ian Guasco finished second, just 3 seconds behind Mark Morris’ Tate Armstrong, who finished in 16:29. Hockinson’s Tanner Hood finished third with a time of 16:40.
