Hockinson gymnast places 13th in day 1 at state

After day one of the WIAA 3A/2A/1A state gymnastics championships, Hockinson’s Celia Racanelli advanced to the second day after earning a top-16 all-around finish out of 145 gymnasts.

Racanelli earned a day one all-around score of 35.225 on Friday, Feb. 23, landing her 13th in the state. She won the district championship on Feb. 17.



During day two of the state championships on Saturday, Feb. 24, Racanelli earned an 11th place 9.075 for vault, a 16th place 7.7 on bars, tied for sixth place with 9.125 on the balance beam, and did not qualify for floor on the second day.

Ridgefield’s top finish during the state championship was a 22nd place 9.175 with Evie Dreiling’s floor routine. Prairie High School finished seventh out of eight full squads.
