The Hockinson School District is accepting applications to fill a vacancy on its Board of Directors following the resignation of Director Gordon Smith.
The appointment is for the Director District No. 5 seat. The appointee will serve through November 2027, when the position will appear on the regular school board election ballot, according to a Hockinson School District news release.
Applicants must be registered voters, U.S. citizens and residents of Director District No. 5. District employees are not eligible to serve on the board.
Applications must include a completed school board application and a current résumé or curriculum vitae. The district administration office must receive submissions by 4 p.m. Friday, Sept. 4. Late or incomplete applications will not be considered.
The board will review applications during the week of Sept. 7 and interview candidates beginning at 6 p.m. Monday, Sept. 14, during its work session. The selected applicant is expected to be appointed during the board's regular meeting Monday, Sept. 28.
