Dianna Margaret (Boyer) Stolz passed away on August 12th, 2026, in Woodland, Washington, at the age of 88.
Dianna was born on October 28th, 1937, in Duluth, Minnesota. She moved to Bremerton, Washington, in 1944 with her family to support the war efforts at various shipyards. In 1947, she and her family moved to Vancouver, Washington, where she then started her career and raised her 4 children.
She graduated from Battle Ground High School in 1955. While in high school, she was a costume designer for the drama program and acted in several plays while also directing a few. After high school, Dianna worked in various administrative positions while also taking time off to start her family.
In 1982, she began her career at B. Dalton Booksellers and retired as the assistant manager after 20 years. While she was there, she founded the children’s book fair, which was host to more than 40 nationally recognized children’s book authors. It became a yearly tradition at the Vancouver Mall. She took great joy in knowing the title and author of every book in the store! As a long and avid reader, this was a perfect career.
Dianna had many interests that enriched her life and brought her great happiness. One of those was sewing. She made all types of clothing for her daughter, as well as many outfits for her granddaughter’s dolls. Quilting was one of her biggest passions and one she was very proud of. Over the years, she was a part of several quilting groups, where she made many quilts for charity. In addition, she made quilts for all her children and grandchildren. She very much enjoyed watching figure skating and always watched all Olympic figure skating programs. Most of all, she loved and adored her dog Lily, who was faithful to the end.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard, her brother, Joseph, and her son, Gregory. She is survived by one brother, Michael, and her children, Scott, Kevin, and Michelle. She also leaves behind seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, all of whom brought her great pride and joy. She was blessed to have a best friend of over 50 years, with whom she often spent time and made many wonderful memories. She loved her friends and family deeply, and her presence will be missed by all who were blessed to know her.
