In loving memory of Elva Lee Tryon: July 10, 1938 - July 19, 2024

Elva Lee Love was born in Hotchkiss, Colorado, to Myrtle and Lester Love and was the youngest of four children. She had two brothers and one sister, all of whom have preceded her in death.

Her first marriage was to Max L. McCarty. They were together for 16 years and had three daughters. After divorcing, “Lee” met the love of her life, Jay Tryon. They were married for 47 and a half years and raised one son.

Lee loved gardening and canned everything. Living on a small farm, she planted multiple fruit trees, assorted berries and many different kinds of flowers. She also had a smattering of cows and chickens.

She enjoyed camping, road trips and the beach. She once took her three girls with three of their friends on an all-girls campout to the beach. Some stories are better told in person!

Lee is survived by her husband, Jay; her three daughters, Amy (Glenn) Haag, Kathy (Jack) Burns and Kimberly Snow-Watkins; and son, Phillip (Veronica) Tyron. She also leaves behind nine grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

A message to Jay, from Lee’s three daughters. “Mom was always your soulmate but we know that you were also her sole caregiver for the last six years. For all the love and care you gave her, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts.”
