In loving memory of Esther Halberg: 1924-2022

Esther Victoria (Granger) Halberg passed away Jan. 24, 2022 at the age of 97. She died peacefully, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on Oct. 14, 1924, in Brooklyn, New York to Frank and Ellen Granger. She married Norbert Halberg on June 30, 1944. They raised their family for 20 years in Gackle, North Dakota before moving to Brush Prairie, Washington. They were blessed with 13 children: Norb (Sandy), Ron (Dottie), Bob (June), Art (Kim), Ethel Bolsoy, Dottie (Bill Wantaja), Bill (Terry), Marie (Randy Brown), Beth (Randy Lipe), Dan (Julie), Carolyn (Howard Redinger), Rod (Trish) and Matt (Amy), along with numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. 

Esther was a member of the Old Apostolic Lutheran Church and her Christianity was her greatest treasure. She was happiest surrounded by her children, family and many Christian friends whom she had so much love for. 

Esther was preceded in death by her husband Norbert; sons-in-law Cornel Lunzman and Jarl Bolsoy; daughter-in-law Marian Halberg; grandchildren Luke and Josh Halberg, Molly Bolsoy and Crissa Lipe; and several great-grandchildren along with her siblings Thelma, Dorothy, Russell, Walter, Stanly, Arthur and Blanche. 

Funeral service was held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 29, 2022 at the Old Apostolic Lutheran Church in Brush Prairie, Washington.
