Sylvia Dee Pott passed away on July 10, 2026, one day before her 80th birthday in Fairbanks, Alaska after a brief illness. Dee was born July 11, 1946 in Vancouver, Washington to Harry and Sylvia (Lehto) Harlow. She grew up on the Oregon coast and in Battle Ground, WA, graduating from Battle Ground High School in 1964.
Dee moved to Alaska in 1972 and graduated from Kodiak College, where she became the registrar. In 1991 she moved to Fairbanks to work for The University of Alaska Fairbanks. She met Dave Pott through a mutual friend and they married in 1997 at their cabin at Gold King, in the Alaska Range. Together they enjoyed the bush lifestyle and in 2021 moved back to Fairbanks, but still enjoyed flying out to their cabin several times each year.
Dee is survived by her husband Dave Pott of Fairbanks, AK, sister Linda Adolfson of Battle Ground, WA, sister Laura Belcher of Hollis, AK, brother Harry Harlow and wife Barbara of La Center, WA, sister-in-law Christine Mercer and husband Jim of Plessis, NY and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Dee's smile and love of life will be missed by all.
