Wesley Dean Sutton, age 68, of Battle Ground, Washington, passed away peacefully with his wife by his side on July 26, 2024, following a brief battle with cancer.

Wes was born in Pico Rivera, California, on March 12, 1956, to Carl and Eva Sutton. He graduated from Bishop Amat High School and later attended the University of San Diego, where he met his wife, Carla.

Wes and Carla were married in 1978, welcomed two children, Ryan and Carey, then moved to Battle Ground, Washington, in 1983. Wes spent many years working as a custodian for the Battle Ground School District, retiring in 2010 when his first grandchild was born. Wes enjoyed coaching Little League and camping with family and friends in his younger years. After retirement, he was passionate about caring for his four adoring grandchildren and was the most loyal and avid attendee of their sports and school events. He also loved music and travel and frequently reminisced about his trip to Italy with his family.

Wes was preceded in death by his father, Carl Sutton, and mother, Eva Ardelean. He is survived by his wife, Carla; his brother, Eldon Lewis; his sister, Cheryl Flack (Jerry); his son, Ryan Sutton (Alix); his daughter, Carey Nolan (Chadd); his grandsons, Jackson Nolan, Tucker Sutton and Henry Sutton; his granddaughter, Ella Nolan; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held at the Sutton home on the afternoon of Saturday, Aug. 10, in Battle Ground. Friends of Wes are invited to attend from 2 – 6 p.m.
