In Loving Memory of William "Bill" Gerald Conrad: 1950-2026

Posted

William "Bill" Gerald Conrad, 75, of Woodland, WA, passed away from BPDCN (a rare leukemia) in peace and comfort at his home, surrounded by his loved ones, on August 30th. Bill was born on Nov. 25th, 1950, in Vancouver, WA, to Lois and Carlton Conrad. Bill's father was in the military, so he moved around quite a bit growing up, but for the majority of his life, Woodland was his home, even spending some of his childhood at Arrow Auto Court, a motel his parents ran in Woodland.

Bill graduated from West High School in Bakersfield, CA, in 1969; that same year, he would be married to his wife of 57 years, Tobie Ann Conrad (McMackin). Bill and Tobie would go on to have two children: their daughter Christi and son Robert.

Bill was a truck driver (logging, gas hauler, and dump truck for paving) for the majority of his life. When it came time to retire, he'd like to spend his free time fishing, watching NASCAR races, and playing with his dog Maggie, but most importantly, he was a family man; he enjoyed spending time with his family and loved playing with his great-grandchildren, Finley and Hudson.

He is survived by his wife, Tobie; his children, Christi (son-in-law Jesse) and Robert (daughter-in-law Janice); siblings Joe, Elaine, and Diana; his eight grandchildren, Katelynn, Justin, Grace, Sophia, Tatum, Traven, Cameron, and Tyler; his great-grandchildren, Finley and Hudson; and his bonus family, Robbi, Maya, Brody, Bree, Isaac, and Gavin.

Preceded in death by his parents, Lois and Carlton Conrad; brothers, John and Danny.

Bill always joked about how he wanted to make the newspaper- well, I know he's thinking to himself right now, "Finally!"

No funeral services are scheduled at this time
