The football schedules for local high schools have been finalized.

During the spring season, high school football teams travel to camps and practice and compete in scrimmages as they work toward the fall season. Soon, as early as the first week in September, high school football fans can pack the stadiums on Friday nights.

To start the season, District Stadium at Battle Ground High School will be quiet as both the Battle Ground Tigers and Prairie Falcons will be on the road. But, the following week, District Stadium will be rocking as the two will play a double header. The Tigers host Mountain View High School at 4 p.m. and the Falcons host Washougal High School at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 12.

The La Center Wildcats saw their season come to a close in the state playoffs last year against Montesano High School. This upcoming season, the Wildcats have their shot at redemption as they host the Montesano Bulldogs in week one at 7 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 5. The Wildcats have another big game to play at the end of the regular season as their newest rival, the Seton Catholic Cougars, will host the Wildcats at 7 p.m. on Halloween night, Friday, Oct. 31. The battle of the cats is widely considered to be the 1A Trico League championship game yet again.

The Woodland Beavers are currently the reigning back-to-back 2A Greater St. Helens League champions. Their week nine matchup with the Ridgefield Spudders has been the deciding game in each season. They face off at 7 p.m. on Halloween night at Ridgefield High School in what could be a third straight league championship game.

The Hockinson Hawks, under the lead of head coach Ben Nelson, will start their season on the road, but the new look team will play for a home crowd at 6 p.m. Friday, Sept. 12, against Mount Baker High School.
