Letter to the editor: BG levy would allow current levels of service to continue

Posted

I would like to introduce myself here first. I am a proud step-grandma, grandma and great-grandma. Some of my grandkids are Battle Ground High School graduates. I have lived here now for almost 10 years and love this town with all my heart.

I have watched this town grow over the past years, and it will continue to grow. Helping children succeed is one of my biggest passions, as well as watching them become responsible young adults.

A levy pays for many things that our state does not fund. For example: safety, special education, custodial services, curriculum, technology support, sports at the high school and middle school level, maintenance and grounds, music and more.

This levy going before us voters in April is a replacement for the levy that is already in place but expires at the end of 2025. This replacement levy will allow the district to continue current service levels beyond 2025.

Please, with all my heart, I urge you to vote yes for all children in our town. The Battle Ground School District is a very fiscally responsible district.

Healthy schools make a healthy community.
