Letter to the Editor: Donald Trump not dangerous to America

Posted

Editor,

U.S. Senator from Vermont Bernie Sanders, a Democrat, is in a youTube ad these days asking people to donate to Kamala Harris’ campaign for president. In the ad, he says that former President Donald Trump is “very dangerous” and “a threat to democracy.” He’s just trying to scare people.

If Donald Trump were going to do something very dangerous, he would have already done it. What good reason is there to believe that he will do something very dangerous in the future?

You might think that Donald Trump incited the riot that appears to have occurred on Jan. 6, 2021, right after the 2020 presidential election. If you do, think about what he said in his speech that day: “I know that everyone here will soon be marching over to the Capitol building to peacefully and patriotically make your voices heard.”

Another very important fact about what happened on Jan. 6 is this: The riot started 20 minutes before he was finished speaking at a location 45 minutes away.

And how about this for an example of a threat to democracy: the Democratic Party dumped their recently elected candidate for president, current President Joseph Biden, and substituted current Vice President Kamala Harris.

No one voted for Kamala Harris to be the 2024 Democrat candidate for president.

Vice President Harris has done such a bad job that her own party considered her to be a political liability not that long ago. Now she is supposed to be some sort of a savior, but one without any accomplishments who is running a campaign about nothing.
