Editor,

I am endorsing, voting for and encouraging you and others to vote by Nov. 5 for John Zingale for 18th Legislative District representative, Position 2. John is honest, trustworthy and has many valuable goals for our state. He is a hard worker, an award-winning teacher, a strong union supporter and a decent human being.

He will work to bring new, workable solutions to build a thriving economic hub in Southwest Washington for rural, suburban and urban constituents with innovative and practical projects.

Regarding housing and homelessness, John aims to create incentives for constructing more sustainable buildings and work with local officials for reasonable zoning changes.

Regarding health care, John will strive to create accessible and affordable health care, which is a human right and a public good. John will advocate for changes to ensure such care is available to all Washingtonians.

Education is John’s area of expertise. He knows first-hand the success of innovative public school programs and will seek to expand programs like career and technical education, Running Star and magnet programs like Cascadia Tech, Vancouver School of Arts and Academics, and Vancouver iTech Prep. John will use his “teacher voice” in Olympia to ensure our state fully funds special education services.

He will support much more, including child care initiatives, choice, crime prevention and local jobs.
