Letter to the editor: Since we’re making cuts, here are some more ideas for federal savings

Posted

While making “our” new limited government, and replacing the government workers with AI, you should be aware that the government also includes the U.S. Supreme Court, Congress and even the president.

This means we can save even more money by dividing the nine supreme court justices into thirds, with only three sitting at any one time and getting paid. To save even more, the other six must stay at home and can’t take their wives or husbands on expensive vacations provided by millionaires or billionaires.

They are allowed to take vacations with real American families selected at random (i.e., no lawyers, making no more than $75,000 per year) in every state.

We can cut the Congress in half by only having 50 senators instead of 100, and instead of 435 representatives just 217.5. The .5 problem is easily solved by using that half person to represent Rhode Island, which is an extremely small state with a little over a million people. Save on election costs by limiting all to only one six-year term. The vacation requirements above apply to them too

Lastly, who needs a president full time when AI is much more intelligent and can do a better job? The president can work half time, and the rest can be spent working on hotels, golf courses or maybe turning golf carts into electric cars. Since most of the very important decisions will be made by AI, nobody needs to move to the White House (and again limited to only one six-year term.) The White House can be turned into a museum and make money selling tickets to special stage productions of important events in American history.

While my brain was in heavy sarcasm mode, I could not help thinking of names for the new dynamic duo — Rich and Richer, Bill and Mil, Hatman and Robbin’, Ox and Orange, etc.
