In celebration of its 75th anniversary, Fort Vancouver Regional Libraries (FVRLibraries) invites artists of all ages to enter a library card design competition. The winning artwork will appear on a limited-edition card released this fall.
This year’s theme, “Our Stories, Our Communities,” encourages participants to reflect on how libraries connect, inspire and celebrate the people and experiences that define the Southwest Washington region. Artists are asked to consider what community means to them and how the library has impacted their lives, according to the FVRLibraries website.
Submissions are open to residents in the FVRLibraries service area, which includes most of Clark County, Skamania and Klickitat counties, the Yale Valley Library District, and the City of Woodland. Cowlitz County residents outside the district may also participate if they are eligible to purchase a nonresident card, the website stated.
Designs must be original and cannot include logos or copyrighted characters. Any artistic medium is welcome, but final submissions must be digital. Artwork should be sized at 7.25 inches by 4.75 inches or 2175 by 1425 pixels, including a 0.25-inch bleed. Designs are due by Monday, June 30.
The competition is open to everyone, including professional artists, students and hobbyists, the website stated.
