Local gardens that exemplify the beauty of nature and sustainable gardening practices will be on display during the upcoming Natural Garden Tour, hosted by Clark County Green Neighbors. The self-guided tour will be available from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Sunday, June 23.

Booklets with the tour map, garden details, accessibility levels and parking are available online at clarkgreenneighbors.org/natural-garden-tour or in person at the 78th Street Heritage Farm, 1919 NE 78th St., Vancouver, during administrative office hours. The farm’s office is open from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., Tuesdays and Wednesdays, and 11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Thursdays and Fridays.

The tour will feature nine gardens across Clark County that demonstrate different natural gardening techniques. During the tour, attendees will be able to learn about innovative and environmentally friendly gardening.

This year, the 78th Street Heritage Farm will be open for self-guided tours of the community gardens during the event. A composting and recycling demonstration will also be available on-site.

The annual natural garden tour aims to encourage Clark County gardens to consider the environmental and health impacts of their gardening choices. Natural gardens provide many benefits, such as supporting wildlife and reducing pollution, a news release by the county stated.
