Public Works hosting meeting on Northeast 179th Street improvements

Clark County Public Works is hosting an open house for residents to learn more about improvements to Northeast 179th Street between Northeast 15th and 26th avenues. The event is from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Wednesday, May 8, Pleasant Valley Middle School, 14320 NE 50th Ave.

The meeting will provide an opportunity for residents to learn more about the project and submit comments to project staff.

The project will reconstruct the existing Northeast 179th Street roadway to meet current road standards. This involves modifying the road’s vertical alignment, widening the roadway, adding curbs, gutters and a separate joint-use bike/pedestrian path, according to a news release. Construction is anticipated to begin in fall 2028.

At the open house, staff will share a presentation about the project beginning at 6:30 p.m., with a question-and-answer session immediately following. The presentation and question session will also be streamed online via Webex.

To participate online via Webex, residents can register on the project webpage at shorturl.at/ckyS6. Registration is not required, and a link to join will be posted on the page 10 minutes before the meeting.

Presentation slides and handouts and a recording of the presentation will be posted to the project webpage within five business days after the open house.

More information about the project can be found at shorturl.at/ckyS6.
