The Prevent Together: Battle Ground Prevention Alliance will soon hold its inaugural “Pickleball for Prevention” fundraiser, with proceeds supporting local youth wellness and drug prevention programs.

The event will take place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 26, at Chief Umtuch Middle School, 700 NW Ninth St., Battle Ground.

Pickleball registration is $20, and those not playing may enter for free. Those registering have until Oct. 25 to register at preventtogetherbg.org/pickleballforprevention, or by contacting PreventTogetherBG@gmail.com.

Attendees are encouraged to wear Hawaiian attire. The event will feature pickleball clinics, games, prizes, refreshments for purchase, a silent auction and kids’ activity tables.

“We are thrilled to host this event, which combines the fun of pickleball— America’s fastest-growing sport — with a cause that plays an important role in shaping the future of our youth,” Executive Director Jennifer Kirby stated in a news release. “Prevention starts with connection and community engagement, and we hope this event will bring people together to support healthier futures for our kids.”
