Ridgefield High School Golden Grad reunion exceeds fundraising goal

Ridgefield High School alumni raised $15,000 for scholarships at the 45th annual Golden Grad luncheon on Sunday, May 19.

The funds came from a silent auction, cash raffle, registration fees and donations. Alumni from the classes of 1947-74 attended, with some coming from as far away as Georgia and Alabama, a press release by the Spudder Golden Grads stated.

“What a joyous reunion of gray-haired Spudders this was,” class of 1971 graduate Michele Mongrain Uplinger said in the release. “Seeing childhood friends again and catching up was great fun, but raising money for education? That made it even better.”

Ridgefield Golden Grads have offered scholarships for 13 years exclusively for education in the trades and vocations at Clark College. Any Ridgefield High School graduate, regardless the year they graduated, may apply, the release stated. Applications can be found at Clark College’s scholarship office.
