The City of Ridgefield is seeking passionate volunteers to help shape the city’s future by serving on its advisory boards and commissions. Applications are due by 4:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 24.
The Roundabout Committee is a five-member group that recommends aesthetically pleasing center island designs for Ridgefield roundabouts. Members serve two-year terms and meet at 6:30 p.m. on the second Monday of each month. Applicants must live within city limits.
The Parks Board includes seven members who advise the City Council on parks planning, operations and maintenance. Its members serve three-year terms and meet at 6:30 p.m. on the second Wednesday of each month. Applicants must live within Ridgefield’s city limits.
The Planning Commission, composed of seven volunteers, advises the City Council on planning, development and growth across Ridgefield. The commission will focus on adopting and implementing Envision Ridgefield 2045, the city’s 20-year growth management plan. Members serve four-year terms and meet at 6:30 p.m. on the first Wednesday of each month. Applicants must reside within city limits, or the urban growth area.
The five-member Salary Commission reviews council member duties and salaries by comparing them to those in similar jurisdictions. Members serve four-year terms and meet as needed. Applicants must be Ridgefield residents, or live within the urban growth area, and be registered to vote.
