Rocksolid Community Teen Center youth deliver pumpkins for Boo Bash

Teens with Rocksolid Community Teen Center delivered paper pumpkins to downtown Battle Ground businesses the week before Halloween in preparation for the annual Battle Ground Boo Bash on Oct. 30.

The pumpkins were displayed at participating businesses during the event, organized by the Battle Ground Festivals Association.

The deliveries allowed teens to meet local business owners and employees while taking an active role in their community.

“At Rocksolid, we want our teens to understand that they’re not just growing up in this community, they’re an important part of it,” executive director Grant Gilson said in a Rocksolid Community Teen Center press release. “Getting them out into the community, meeting people, and building those connections is just as important as what happens inside our doors. Sometimes it’s the little things, like delivering a pumpkin to a local business, that create those opportunities.”

Rocksolid is a nonprofit after-school program serving students in grades 6-12 in the Battle Ground area. The center offers mentoring, activities and opportunities for teens to build relationships and develop life skills. To learn more, visit rocksolid-teen.com.
