Sections of Lacamas Regional Park trail closed

Posted

For the safety of park visitors, the Clark County Public Works Parks and Lands division has closed sections of the Lacamas Regional Park trail near Round Lake as of Feb. 22.

The footbridge located on the trail to the lower falls has sustained significant structural damage and will need to be removed and replaced. This process will take one to two years to complete, including environmental permitting, according to a news release.

Fencing will be installed around the closed area and signage will alert visitors to the closure. Temporary signs, barricades and caution tape currently mark the closed area.

Visitors can still access the lower falls via open trails.

Trail users are reminded to never enter areas closed by barricades, signs, cones, tape, fencing or other barriers, for their safety. To protect the area’s valuable ecosystem and visitor safety, visitors are also reminded to never follow unofficial trails or create their own trails, according to the news release.

A reopening date is unknown. Updates on the closure will be posted at clark.wa.gov/public-works/lacamas-regional-park.
