Area Soroptimist chapter offers award scholarships

Soroptimist International of Clark County is again offering the “Live Your Dream” and “Achieve Your Dream” educational awards aimed at providing assistance to women and girls pursuing their education.

According to a press release, the “Live Your Dream” award is a national initiative available to women who provide primary financial support for themselves and their dependents, which may include children, partners or other family members in Clark County. The funding can be applied toward essential educational expenses, including tuition, books and living costs related to attending community colleges, vocational schools or undergraduate programs. The deadline to apply is Nov. 15.

The “Achieve Your Dream” award is a local initiative designed for women and girls in Clark County. This award does not require applicants to be the head of household, making it accessible to a wider range of individuals seeking to further their education. The funding can be applied toward essential educational expenses, including tuition, books and living costs related to attending community colleges, vocational schools or undergraduate programs. The deadline to apply is Jan. 1, 2025.

Eligibility criteria for both awards.

• Applicants must demonstrate an interest in continuing their education at a community college, vocational or technical school, or through an undergraduate program.

• Financial need must be clearly demonstrated.

• Applicants should provide information about their career plans and any challenges or obstacles they face in achieving their goals.
