Battle Ground City Hall becomes open-air gallery for art festival

Battle Ground Art Alliance (BGAA) turned City Hall, 109 SW First St., Battle Ground, into a bustling open-air gallery and vendor fair during its annual Art Festival in the City on Saturday, Sept. 15.

The festival, traditionally held at Kiwanis Park at 22 SW Second Ave., Battle Ground, was relocated to City Hall in collaboration with the City of Battle Ground due to the park’s ongoing construction.

“We called City Hall and talked to [Deputy City Manager] Rob Ferrier, and he was really receptive. We said we wanted to collaborate with the city and they were very supportive,” BGAA President JoyLynn Woodard said.

Woodard said that BGAA is excited to explore further collaboration with the city as the organization plans more community events.

BGAA is a non-profit artists organization in Battle Ground. Members practice a variety of mediums including painting, sculpting and photography. For more information, visit bgartalliance.com.
