Chick-fil-a appears headed for Ridgefield

This time, a popular chain closed on Sundays is being added into the mix.

Famous for a cow mascot that wishes for people to “Eat More Chikin,” Chick-fil-a has now appeared on the Ridgefield active development map with a pending status. The fast-food restaurant chain currently offers two locations in Vancouver proper, but neither location is as easily accessible off of Interstate 5 quite like the proposed Ridgefield location.

The rumors have been going for a while, even by reporting by Reflector reporter Cade Barker in April when reporting on the Pad N, directly north of In-N-Out Burger in the Union Ridge Town Center development.

“Pad N would also have a two-lane drive thru, according to plans, but also packs 66 parking stalls and 5,810 square feet,” the April article by The Reflector stated. “Chick-Fil-A built a 6,545-square-foot location in Fircrest, which lands the Union Ridge Town Center’s Pad N in the 5,000 to 6,500-square feet range of the typical Chic-Fil-A restaurant, though no official word exists.”

Now the official word exists, according to the Ridgefield active development map. However, previous entities such as Panda Express made it quite far into the process for a location in Ridgefield, but pulled the application — so anything is still possible. But a pending status entails, “application has been submitted and is pending acceptance and determination of technically complete,” according to the city of Ridgefield.

There are no other documents for the Chick-fil-a location available on the city website. But Pad N at the Union Ridge Town Center development has remained a large drive thru restaurant, according to site plans.

Union Ridge Town Center is already home to the state’s first ever In-N-Out Burger, a Costco, a Chipotle and Ridgefield’s second Starbucks location. With traffic concerns already visualized for Ridgefield residents, a lot expressed deep traffic concerns about the appearance of Chick-fil-a just north of In-N-Out Burger in a Facebook post in the Ridgefield, Wa group.

According to the current flyer on the Union Ridge Town Center website, a Verizon Wireless location is listed as pending, as well as an OnPoint Credit Union, Heartland Dental and a Wanpo Tea Shop.

A McDonald’s is nearly finished in the neighboring Ridgefield Gateway development, which has a scheduled grand opening celebration on Saturday, Dec. 6, at 3 p.m. The Gateway development is also slated to bring a 76 Gas Station with a car wash, and a Gesa Credit Union location, as well as a multi-tenant building.
