The City of La Center will nominate one graduating high school senior for scholarship consideration. Applications are due by Friday, Dec. 19, and should be submitted in person at La Center City Hall, located at 210 E. Fourth St., La Center. They must be eligible to earn a high school diploma, homeschool diploma or GED in spring or summer 2026. The student must also have plans to attend an accredited college or trade school at least half-time during the 2026-27 academic year.

The scholarship recipient will be notified by AWC in spring 2026 and will receive a travel stipend to attend AWC’s Annual Conference in Spokane on June 25, 2026, where they will be recognized at a luncheon, the news release stated.
