Country Gospel Praise of Battle Ground will honor community volunteer Boyd Johnson during a musical event at 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 5, at Meadow Glade Church, 11001 NE 189th St., Battle Ground. Community members are invited to participate in the free event.
Johnson has volunteered with the Clark County Fair for the past 50 years as a board member. He also serves for the Dairy Breeders Association, state and national Holstein clubs and Fort Vancouver Antique Equipment Association, a press release by Country Gospel Praise stated.
In his spare time, Johnson creates cowboy poetry and serves as a master of ceremonies at Country Gospel Praise, the release stated.
During the event, country music singer and songwriter Joni Harms and other local musicians will perform and join the Country Gospel Praise community in recognizing Johnson’s contributions to the community, the release stated.
