Clark County Council is seeking applicants for a volunteer trustee position on the Fort Vancouver Regional Library (FVRL) board. Applications are due by 5 p.m., Friday, Sept. 13.

The No. 1 position opening is designated for a Clark County resident residing outside the Vancouver and Camas city limits, a county news release stated.

FVRL trustees are responsible for managing policies regarding the district’s multiple library locations, bookmobiles, self-serve locations and online services.

The FVRL trustee board meets at 6 p.m. every third Monday of the month. Meetings are held in hybrid format, and the schedule is available online at fvrl.org/about-us/trustees.

Those interested in the position must send a letter and resume to Michelle Pfenning, County Manager’s Office, P.O. Box 5000, Vancouver 98666 or email michelle.pfenning@clark.wa.gov.

In the letter, applicants must discuss their understanding of current library challenges, their perspective on library services, and the district funding as a junior taxing district, the news release stated.
