Delays expected on SR 503 north of Battle Ground

Drivers can expect delays on state Route 503 north of Battle Ground as the Washington State Department of Transportation constructs a roundabout on state Route 503.

Construction will take place Sunday, Aug. 18, through Saturday, Aug. 24. The project area will occur at Rock Creek Road.

“Construction work can be disruptive to communities, and we understand the effect it causes,” WSDOT project engineer Susan Fell said in a news release. “By fully closing portions of the intersection, crews have the time and space needed to complete the work faster and safer, allowing them to reopen the roadway sooner.”

During the process, drivers can expect single-lane closures on SR 503’s west side. Temporary traffic signals will guide drivers through the work zone. The speed limit will be reduced to 20 mph. After the closure, additional work is required, including final paving and stiping work. The project is scheduled to be completed in fall.
