SEVERAL STUDENTS WHO graduated from area high schools this year were awarded scholarships by the Lewis River Rotary Club. Students were from Battle Ground, Prairie and Hockinson high schools, and Columbia Adventist Academy and CAM Academy. Two separate grants were also awarded to students continuing education.
Lewis River Rotary Club recently awarded scholarships to graduating seniors from Battle Ground High School, Prairie High School, Hockinson High School, Columbia Adventist Academy and CAM Academy. Two separate grants were awarded to students continuing education.
Lewis River Rotary has proudly given scholarships to youth for almost 20 years. Funding is raised from an annual spring charity auction and distributed at the end of the school year to the qualifying students.
Students who received scholarships this year include students from Battle Ground High School: Charity Beene, Katie Clune, Shayla McIntyre, Susan Urias, Adeena Wade and Savanna Watson; students from Columbia Adventist Academy: Stephen Jardin; students from CAM Academy: Allison Erskine, McKenzie Joner, Lydia Moynihan and Lael Papenfuse; students from Hockinson High School: Madeline Brookman, Hannah Charles, Emily Hylton, Katherine Macdonald and Abigail Zora; students from Prairie High School: Nathan Dougal and Lana Ferris; and two students continuing education: Cicely Grauer and Michelle Suchy.
Lewis River Rotary meets every Tuesday, 7 a.m., at the Battle Ground Community Center, 912 E. Main St., Battle Ground.
