Parks Foundation elects new board members

The Parks Foundation of Clark County recently announced the election of three new members to its board of directors. 

Darrin Class, a Ridgefield resident and Portland-based attorney at law, will provide the Foundation with expertise and knowledge of Washington Real Estate and Business Law, and the laws pertaining to entities, taxes, and planned giving.

Colin Mahoney, general manager of Shorty’s Garden and Home, will lend his strong project development, coordination, and strategic planning skills to the Foundation. Mahoney’s experience in marketing, outreach, finance, budgeting, hiring, leadership, and business development, combined with his network of personal and professional acquaintances, will assist the Foundation in increasing its visibility in the community. 

Scott Miller, senior vice president of marketing at Riverview Community Bank, brings strong skills and experience in advertising, direct mail, research, social media, public relations, community investment, and event planning to the Foundation.



The Foundation also announced the election of its 2013-2015 executive committee Members at the Sept. 17 annual meeting. The executive committee includes Immediate Past President Matt Bisturis, President Megan Strand, Vice Presidents Carol Bua and Renee Wilson, Secretary Marianne Barrus, and Treasurer Dan Clark.

The Parks and Recreation Foundation of Vancouver and Clark County was established in 1999 to accept and administer donations, gifts and bequests for the enrichment and enhancement of our communities’ parks, trails, and recreational programs.

The mission of the Parks Foundation is to raise funds through public and private partnerships for parks, trails, and recreational programs throughout Clark County. The Foundation is a 501c3 nonprofit corporation and all gifts are tax deductible. The Foundation is governed by a board of directors comprised of local citizens who oversee, invest and administer donations made to the Foundation.
