Woodland City Council approves partnership with Washington state Department of Corrections

The Woodland City Council has approved an interagency agreement with the Washington state Department of Corrections (DOC), allowing community corrections officers to operate within the city. Under this agreement, two DOC officers will be stationed at the Woodland Police Department at 200 E. Scott Ave.

The officers ensure the successful community reintegration of formerly incarcerated individuals into the community. In addition to their primary duties, they will assist the Woodland Police Department by providing support during holiday and community events and responding to potential incidents involving felons under DOC supervision within city limits.

The agreement, which incurs no cost to the city, is set to remain in effect until Feb. 28, 2029.
