Jerry Arvi Kouvo was born on June 10, 1948, at St. John's Hospital in Longview, Washington. He died on Oct. 2, 2024, at his home In Woodland, Washington. He was born in 1948 to father Robert Henry Kouvo and mother Edna Elma Erstad, both of Woodland. He graduated in 1966 from Woodland High School and went on to get his bachelor's degree in business from Clark College. He went to work for his father’s body and fender shop, Bob's Body Shop, in Woodland for 20 years. After closing the business down, he went to work for the U.S. Forest Service for a short while before going to work for USNR until forced into his early retirement in 2000 due to a stroke. Jerry enjoyed racing flat track in his younger years. He was into bowling, golfing, hunting and fishing. He was a great husband, an amazing father and the best grandpa any kids could ask for. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert (1988); his mother, Edna (2005); his sister, Sandra (1957); and his wife, Rebecca (2008). He is survived by his brother, Lee; his son, Ryan; his daughter-in-law, Cori; his granddaughter, Keira; and his grandson, Clayton.
