Letter to the Editor: Joe Kent is a return to common sense

Posted

Editor,

The August primaries are over, and we are honored that Joe Kent is the Republican winner. Nobly, Leslie Lewallen immediately stepped up to honor Joe’s win by endorsing him. We are grateful for the party unity and embrace it as the Republican Party moves forward in the effort to offer what Marie Gluesenkamp Perez has not.

Joe Kent has been sounding the alarm regarding a completely open border that has allowed for the murders of innocent citizens by illegals who’ve crossed that border, mostly young women in the prime of their lives, students at university (Laken Riley), mothers (Rachel Morin), 12-year-old Texas girl (Jocelyn Nungaray), not to mention a higher rate of suicides on the part of border control agents who are forbidden from enforcing our laws.

Joe is outspoken about no men in women’s/girls’ private spaces and sporting events. Hard-fought historical battles to secure women’s rights in the sports world are now being demolished by “men” who dress the part of women and are supported by ESPN, Olympic committees, college teams and beyond. First, Sage Steele was fired from ESPN; now Samantha Ponder has been fired because she refuses to go along with saying it’s justified for men to compete and win awards in women’s sports. Marie is fine with this.

Marie is for sex-change surgeries for minors, and she voted against any requirement for schools to publish their curriculum, giving parents more knowledge regarding what their children are learning (H.R. 5 — Parents Bill of Rights).

Marie voted against H.R. 23 — Family and Small Business Taxpayer Protection Act — while voting for 87,000 new IRS agents who will go after small businesses.

Joe Kent wants to end the endless wars pushed by the DC crowd. How much money has been given to Ukraine with no accounting for where the money is spent? Will it ever end? How will we know when the “mission” is accomplished?

Marie Gluesenkamp Perez is for more spending on Ukraine with no questions asked, has supported all the blurring of men’s/women’s sports woes, money for teaching children in schools by librarians as much gratuitous sex as one can think of — books about boy sex and beyond.

And we can now understand why at the 11th hour Marie suddenly pretends to be concerned about the border when for the last three years she voted for the open border, dismissing concerns: “No one is losing sleep over the border.” I can assure her that the families of those murdered innocents and families of border guards have lost plenty of sleep.

The role of government is to protect and defend us citizens. That is not the goal of the Democrat Party, yet Marie consistently spends our money and votes with them in lockstep. There is nothing moderate about Marie.
