Auditions for Love Street Playhouse’s upcoming performance of “LIVE IN 3, 2, 1,” an original comedy play debuting at the theater, will open in August.

The auditions will take place from 6 p.m. to 9:30 p.m, Wednesday, Aug. 14, at Love Street Playhouse, 126 Loves Ave., Woodland.

“Live in 3, 2, 1” is a comedy play set in a 1939 television studio, a press release by Love Street Playhouse stated. A Hollywood team planning to stage a live performance of a Western loses its director before the performance and the assistant producer is placed in charge with an hour’s notice. The story will follow the challenges and hijinks the assistant producer faces as she tries to bring the show together before the performance, the release stated.

Auditioners should bring a headshot photo — nonprofessional is fine, a personal calendar and an optional theater resume to the auditions. Participants will need to fill out an information sheet before performing a reading from the play script, the release stated. Auditions will include cold readings from the script. No monologues are required. People should arrive a few minutes before 6 p.m. to fill out the informational sheet.

Play performance dates will run from Nov. 15 to Dec. 8. The opening night performance will begin at 7:30, Friday, Nov. 15. The following performances will take place Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.

Love Street Playhouse is casting for 10 roles, and people are encouraged to practice before auditioning.
