The Yacolt Rendezvous Days will feature a kickball tournament, the Bigfoot Fun Run, Hellz Bellz Ultra 50-mile ultra marathon and Purgatory Trail Marathon as athletic opportunities this weekend.
The kickball tournament kicks off after Rendezvous Days opening ceremonies at the North County Little League fields, 721 North Amboy Ave., in Yacolt. The tournament begins at 6 p.m., Friday, June 28. Early arrival is recommended for registration of $10 for teams of five to 10 players.
On Saturday, June 29, the Bigfoot Fun Run 5K and 10K run/walk begins at 9 a.m. The fun run takes place at 202 W. Cushman St., in Yacolt. The 10K course features 628 feet of total elevation change, taking participants on East Yacolt Road to Northeast Falls and Northeast Thompson roads. The 5K course goes only part-way on the route up Northeast Falls Road before turning around to the start/finish line with just 186 feet of elevation change. Beginning at 6 a.m., Sunday, June 30, the Hellz Bellz Ultra 50-mile marathon and Purgatory Trail Marathon kicks off at the Yacolt Recreational Park at 26612 E. Hoag St.
The 50-mile ultra marathon takes runners from Yacolt proper to the Bells Mountain Trail and the over 22-mile Tarbell Trail. The ultra marathon features five aid stations to assist the runners receive nutrients. The Purgatory Trail Marathon will utilize the same route from the Yacolt Recreational Park and loops back for an out-and-back trail run on the Bells Mountain Trail.
Runners will cross the Moulton Falls Bridge for photo and scenic spectator opportunities.
